NC to DC Again

Once again North Carolina has provided the White House with a Christmas tree for the Blue Room. First Lady Laura Bush received the tree today. The River Ridge Tree Farm in Crumpler NC will also provide 25 additional live trees for the White House.

It will be next weekend when we will travel up to our favorite choose-n-cut tree farm, Top of the Mountain. If you remember, last year we were unable to make this trip due to Tim's broken leg. However, we were still able to have a live tree thanks to Melanie and Jason.

Having missed last year, we're looking forward to making our pilgrimage once again.

A Sign Of The Times

So while the adults settled in to watch the Cowboy game and visit Thanksgiving Day, the 3 and 5 year olds had other important things to attend to.....

I Am Hungry

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Tim's cooking the turkey and I'm preparing the sides. It will be a small group this time - just four of us - Tim, Art, Will and myself. I will try not to overeat but I might slip up a bit.

So here is my inspiration to stay on track.

Is a piece of pecan pie really that loaded??

Planning

Angela and Will have created a new wedding website. It is now added on the right side bar under related family sites. Check it from time to time for new updates.

We can't wait until 2009!

Camping Adventures

Last week we took our annual fall trek to the Texas Hill Country for a week of camping. This year we were in Kerrville camping by the Guadalupe River.

The weather was gorgeous. We had very cool mornings for our hikes along the river banks.

The afternoons warmed up so we would change into shorts before exploring more areas.

We saw big and little creatures all over the area.

And from this pictures, you can tell why it's called Hill Country.
.
When we win the lottery, we're going to buy one of the many ranches we saw around this beautiful area. Then we will host all family reunions where everyone can ride horses around the ranch and sit around the campfire at night playing you know what...nope not poker!

Done

Standing in line outside this morning in a light drizzling rain I eventually made my way inside the precinct. After casting my ballot I walked outside and was approached by a college student who was conducting an exit poll. I agreed to participate because I have always wondered about exit polls and how they really got this information. Now I know and now I am part of one.

Total time out of my day: 1 hour and 10 minutes. A short time for a big decision. I will spend a lot longer staying up tonight to see the final results.
