Do any of you recognize these Alaskan bear & moose? Chris & Linda discovered these strange looking creatures wandering around in a gift shop in Juneau, Alaska. We picked them up due to them looking so lost and brought them aboard with us on the Sea Princess to continue our Alaskan journey. Chris & Linda decided that they ended up being so adorable, so they brought them back to Texas & Oklahoma. Happy endings to every story!!!!!!Tuesday, August 25, 2009

Sydney and Sonny
Yesterday we made a day trip to visit Melanie so we could view one of her art pieces hanging at a gallery in downtown Raleigh.
Her artwork is displayed at the Visual Art Exchange Gallery.

Wilmington
It seemed as though the glorious wedding weekend just flew by so quickly. Every moment I will cherish for a very long time. I did not take many pictures. I wanted to savor every moment as much as I could.
We appreciated so much the ones who traveled so many miles to share with us this happy occasion. I have been reliving these wonderful times ever since I returned home on Sunday.
Now most everyone knows what happens when the Barrs get together. I hesitate to use the phrase "more fun than a barrel of monkeys" but that is the only one that comes to mind.
The few pictures I took of the bride and groom did not turn out very well. Wine, laughter and a shaky camera do not make for good photography. I will wait on the professional photographer's images of the bride and groom. For now I will post just a few from my little Coolpix.

And of course no weekend event can be complete without the proper analysis, examination, evaluation and summation of appropriate family behavior and interaction of said Barr-sibling units and sub-units. Ladies and gentlemen, I present the official family financial, legal, educational and spiritual counselor. The seeker of truth. A leader amongst mankind.

Cruise Trip '09
We're all back from our trip to San Francisco and Alaska aboard the Sea Princess. It was a great adventure both in CA and AK--wish I could post all the wonderful pixs but will have to show you the rest when we're together.
The fun began for our 10 day cruise at the Sail Away Party on the Sea Princess.
We did an awesome excursion to a rainforest in Juneau. Here we're gathered in the garden right after coming down from the mountain top.
The sequence is a bit out of order but I love this pix from the mountain top. Our ship can be seen in the background and I felt I was peeking down at it from heaven.
Here we're viewing the Mendenhall glacier. It was a cool, overcast day and just perfect for bringing out the colors in the ice.

We had such a fabulous time filled with so many laughs and memories that we've already put a deposit down for our next trip. Think about joining us for a sail away to our 50th state in '11.Sunday, August 2, 2009
Celebrating 90
Today we hosted a family gathering for Tim's Dad. We had a delicious lunch followed by a luscious chocolate cream cheese birthday cake. For entertainment, we watched a DVD documentary about Niagara Falls. This is the area where Art grew up, so he was very interested in seeing this. All in all it was a great day and we enjoyed every moment.
Thanks to Melanie, Jason, Will and Angela for making the trip to join in the celebration. It means so much to Art to have all of his family together in his honor.
