Hello Walter

Very early this morning, Walter James came into the world. He is a big, healthy boy - over 9 pounds - with lots of pretty brown hair. Oh, I could write pages about my new grandson, but suffice it to say that I am currently experiencing a new kind of wonderful love.

Mom loves her baby son. Is there any question?

While rocking my grandson, I am wearing the pretty green "Grandma Rocks" t-shirt that Chris and Mel gave me in Wilmington. I hope to be a rocking good Grandmother. I will try my best.

We are the proud owners of a new MacBook Pro and this is how it all came about.

The picture above was taken of our ship, Sea Princess, docked just outside Haines, AK. We were on a wildlife excursion when I snapped this picture. When we got home, Missy took my memory card and enhanced all the pictures on her Mac then I had them developed. We were just so impressed with the clarity and colors of the pictures....

that we made a visit to our local mall which just happened to have this store in it. (A virus on our old computer also hastened this trip.) After spending some time talking to a sales rep, we were sold and...

this is what we came home with. We are both enjoying sitting in our chairs and exploring our new Mac. We're also taking 1 on 1 tutorials to get to know it better. Can't wait to learn more... And when I learn how to airbrush pictures, you'll see a new and improved Chris!

Labor Day Recap

Tim has just finished refurbishing the deck that he originally built over 15 years ago.

He replaced all the deck boards with new ones.


The wood balusters were replaced with black iron ones that have a pretty outward arc.

After many days and many hours of labor by Tim, we decided to replace our Weber kettle grill that we have used and enjoyed for many years. It was time to step up to gas. We are fans of Weber products so it wasn't hard to decide which brand of grill we wanted this time. We purchased a wonderful propane grill and picked it up yesterday. We even got to choose a color. Ours is a forest green.

Oh, yes, the steaks and potatoes were just delicious. We're ready for ya'll to drop in for a cookout - the more, the merrier!

We had a very nice, relaxing, and appetite satisfying Labor Day. I hope everyone else did too.
