Three weeks ago when I purchased my phone, I also bought two others - one for Tim and one for Will. To put it simply, I ended up paying $120 for the three phones (after 3 mail-in rebates and using a $100 "new every 2" credit). I thought this was a pretty good deal.
In today's paper I couldn't help but notice a Verizon full page ad: BUY ONE RAZR FOR $39 (after mail-in rebate) AND GET 3 FOR FREE!
For my purposes, if I bought today, I would have paid $0 because I could have applied my $100 "new every 2" credit to the first phone and the other two would have been free.
I called Verizon to see what they could do for me. They said I could bring in all 3 phones, packed just as they were in the box, get a full refund and then turn around and jump through the hoops again by repurchasing.
Oh sure, Verizon, no problem. One phone is in Tampa and the other two have long been separated from the box with the cords, chargers and cases scattered here and there.

That's Verizon for you. I would be willing to send my phone back to Winston for a few days, I can talk to Angela and you online (nobody else ever calls me).
You should check out a blog called "The Consumerist" at www.consumerist.com. They post about consumers' problems with big companies and you can do a search for "Verizon" and see some problems people have had. People can email their problems in and sometimes the bloggers will post or investigate. It's a good blog to bookmark!
I can sympathize. Our 3 iphones are less than 2 months old, and the new price is $200 cheaper, per phone. Apple is going to give us $100 in store credit per phone, but I'd rather have my 600 bucks back.
So goes the prices of cell phones... they change faster and drop quicker than virtually any other technology item.
Still, you should be able to get your money back easier than that. Go the store where you bought them and talk to the manager. Bring the ad and your receipts. Tell him you want to get a price adjustment and don't let him know you already talked to Verizon. If he tells you to bring them all back, tell him that you will return them all to his store, and buy them somewhere else because of the hassle... maybe a place like BestBuy where you could get a price match and earn Rewards points. More often than not, they won't want to lose the sale nor will the want to go through the hassle of a return/rebuy and will just credit your card or account. Give it a shot.
Will, no need to send your phone back. I may do what Jason suggests - take my receipt and the ad and speak with the store manager. The iPhone buyers got stung too.
Jason, I need a bumper sticker: "Cell Phones Are Not For Sissies"
