Standing in line outside this morning in a light drizzling rain I eventually made my way inside the precinct. After casting my ballot I walked outside and was approached by a college student who was conducting an exit poll. I agreed to participate because I have always wondered about exit polls and how they really got this information. Now I know and now I am part of one.
Total time out of my day: 1 hour and 10 minutes. A short time for a big decision. I will spend a lot longer staying up tonight to see the final results.

Mel and I walked up to our local school at 8 this morning. Total time for standing in line (2 people in front of us), checking our cards, writing our names, receiving our electronic card and voting...5 minutes. No...we didn't vote a straight ticket.
