Baseball

We took a trip up to Frisco today to watch the Rough Riders (AA minor league for the TX Rangers) play ball. The morning started out rainy but by game time the rain had left and it was a bit overcast and pleasant. It being an 11:00 start on a weekday meant a small crowd which was okay with us.

The fellow on the right who we saw out at the park today is Jon Daniels, General Mgr of the TX Rangers. Jon became their mgr. at age 28 (youngest ever in major league baseball) and could be our youngest child.

Before the start of the game, Navy Seals parachuted from a plane and landed on the field. It was an awesome sight.

And lo and behold I came back to my seat to discover one of the team mascots flirting with my husband.

We had a great day at the game and the Rough Riders made it worth while by beating San Antonio 10-6!

I can understand flirting with Mel!

Is there not a story about this team & Michael naming the mascot through a contest?

In its anuagural season, the Rough Riders had a "cowboy" riding a horse as one of their mascots. There was a contest to name the cowboy. Michael entered the name Dusty and after voting ended, his name won. He won season tickets and the use of a suite for a game. Dusty must have ridden into the sunset because we don't see him anymore.
