A Wonderful Long Weekend

We traveled to Virginia this weekend to attend the baptism of little Emerson Maxwell. Rita and Brian are so proud of their son as well they should be. He is so precious. The baptism ceremony was wonderful. Afterwards we enjoyed a delicious brunch at their home. Three years ago we were at this same church for their wedding.

Tom and I are always glad to see each other. He and Linda are great fun. We always have a good time when we're together.

While touring downtown DC, Tim gets a photo op with some candidates.

Saturday night we dined at a delicious restaurant in China Town. This part of the city is so pretty at night.

Another evening we were atop the Jefferson Memorial at sunset. Love my new camera!

Of course the Lincoln Memorial is breathtaking too.

The Washington Monument in the background.

We toured The White House Friday morning. President Bush had just given a press conference in the Rose Garden and we saw his helicopter, Marine One, take off. We also noticed the security guard with a machine gun. Because of strict security measures no cameras were allowed; no purses, bags or any such carry items. The last time we toured was March 2001, pre-9/11.

I could tour DC for weeks and never tire of it. If only my legs and feet felt the same way.
